Although I can work on a potter's wheel, I prefer to create pieces that are hand built using pinch, mold, slab, coil, or combinations of techniques.
...as well as sculptural pieces. Most pieces are high-fired, but I also do Raku. I have attended workshops with Claude Smith III (New Mexican) and Cathi Jefferson (Canadian).
...how things feel physically and visually is apparent in all my work whether it is fiber, photography or assemblage. Pieces show texture as well as the simplicity and beauty via the use of stains and washes.
My work almost always reflects some aspect of nature, my favorite subject. My studio, on the edge of the Gila National Forest, proves to be a source of inspiration and reflection.
I work out of 'Shared Studio Space @ The Wherehouse' - 305 S. Texas - Silver City - NM.
