| This art process enhances and deepens the substance of my world. -Tyler Bingham |
Existing within the social, natural, and self constructions is a superficial chaos; apparently the environmental and human structures are in conflict. However, uncovering this superficial blanket reveals a potential unity between nature's and nurture's forms and functions, regardless of context. Specific avenues of inquiry can intellectually dissolve conflict, leading towards a dissolution of behavioral conflict.
Sometimes I'm inspired to believe architectural successes positively alter social behavior outside of the space in discussion. Man is capable of integrating the life lessons spoken by the living structures into his world. However, man first needs to pay attention to the architecture in his world, regardless of the splendor or catastrophe of its language.
I experiment seeing through architectural geometry. If I see a building or a door that I enjoy, I attempt to isolate and pinpoint the focus of pleasure. If identified, I map the pleasurable structure onto other visual stimuli within my world. Sometimes this process works while other times the map just doesn't fit, it fails to be transferable
Usually, I'm led into the descriptors of mathematics. Reflection, infinity, right angle, symmetry, etc., contain objective elements [by definition] that keep me focused. It often is an interesting challenge to find a right angle in the natural world when investigating a single tree. However, I may find a right angle formed by a stand of three trees. I then go back to the spatial focus of pleasure using the new tool for solution. |
